Journal Shoe Cabinet: A Solution Born from Singapore's Urban Living
This project aimed to uncover design opportunities unique to the living conditions in Singapore. Through meticulous observations and interviews, we gained valuable insights into user behaviors, patterns, and mindsets. One notable issue that emerged was the challenge of effectively utilizing the space at the inner entrance of homes. Due to limited space within many Singaporean residences, belongings often overflow into shared public areas. The design process of the Journal Shoe Cabinet was initiated to address these space constraints and offer a practical solution.
The Journal Shoe Cabinet is engineered to store the maximum number of shoes in minimal space, while seamlessly integrating with the Singaporean lifestyle. More than just a storage solution, it serves as a hub for daily essentials, thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of urban living.
